Trails in Leelanau

Hiking, Biking, Skiing, and Snowshoeing

There are a variety of trails throughout Leelanau that can be enjoyed. Many are within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore property including nearly 72,000 acres of protected land that spans the northeastern shore of Lake Michigan and consists of the South and North Manitou Islands. Park passes are required within the National Lakeshore. Additional trails can be enjoyed in 28 natural areas and preserves managed by the Leelanau Conservancy.

Below, we highlight the trails many of which can also be used for biking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
