  • Distance: 2.4 to 7.5 miles (multiple loops)

  • Terrain: Hilly terrain with two loops of trails that range from easy to moderate

  • Vegetation: Beech and maple forest, fields and a pine plantation

  • Trailhead: A vault toilet is available at the trailhead.

  • Pets: Pets are NOT allowed on the trails during winter from December 1 through March 31 because it is a designated cross-country trail. This is the only trail in which the use of horses is allowed.

Comments:
Meander on the trails through farms and fields. The Farm Loop provides panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the countryside from Lookout Point. The Ridge Trail along the edge of the woods overlooks fields of wildflowers and a former farmland with Lake Michigan in the background.

Farm Loop: 2.4 mi - Wanders through farms and fields, by a historic schoolhouse to Lookout Point.

Ridge Loop: 4 mi - The low trail leads through fields and forest. The high trail follows the ridge for views of Lake Michigan.

Fees: A National Park Pass is required. Various options are available and can be purchased online or at the Visitors Center in Empire.
