Distance: 20 miles
Terrain: Easy to moderate - paved, multi-use trail from Empire connecting the Dune Climb, Glen Haven, D.H. Day Campground, through Glen Arbor, and Port Oneida to Bohemian Rd.
Vegetation: Mostly forested.
Trailhead: Park your car and use your bike or hike to get around. Trailheads are located at Bar Lake Rd, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, Dune Climb, Glen Haven, Alligator Hill Trailhead, Crystal River Launch, Bay View Trailhead, Port Oneida Rd, Bohemian Rd.
Pets: Pets are NOT allowed between December 1 and March 31.

The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is the only bicycle trail in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The trail is mostly paved but has a short section of packed gravel through the Port Oneida Rural Historic District. The trail spans about 20 scenic miles between Empire and Bohemian Road (CR-669).
This trail is handicap accessible and designed for walkers, runners, skiers, people on bicycles, in wheelchairs, and babies in strollers. Some stretches have steep grades which are noted on trailhead signs. Be aware of others using the trail and going at different speeds.

Fees: A National Park Pass is required. Various options are available and can be purchased online or at the Visitors Center in Empire.
Location: Spans from Empire to Bohemian Rd north of Port Oneida. There are multiple locations to access the trail (see above).
