Grand Traverse Lighthouse to Host Community Day on June 13
Free Admission to Leelanau State Park and Lighthouse Museum
NORTHPORT, MI — The Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum invites the community to celebrate history, discovery, and family fun during its annual Community Day on Saturday, June 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the historic Grand Traverse Lighthouse located inside Leelanau State Park.
This special event offers free admission into both Leelanau State Park and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum for the day, giving visitors the opportunity to explore one of Michigan’s most treasured historic landmarks.
Community Day will feature activities and attractions for all ages, including:
Climb the Lighthouse Tower
Drive an Underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle)
Arts & Crafts Vendors
Shipwreck Exhibit
Treasure Hunt Activities
The Grand Traverse Lighthouse is listed on both the State and National Register of Historic Places and is operated by a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring this important historic site for future generations.
“We are excited to welcome visitors from near and far to experience everything the lighthouse has to offer,” said representatives from the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum. “Community Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local history, support local vendors, and enjoy a fun-filled day at Leelanau State Park.”
Arts and crafts vendors will also be on site throughout the event, showcasing handmade items and local creations.
The Grand Traverse Lighthouse is located at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula inside Leelanau State Park near Northport, Michigan.
